Regional council has asked the province to undertake a review of automated speed enforcement and provide tools to municipalities to standardize operations for consistency.

“I know many of us have received messages about this program and confusion, and what I see as potentially a need for greater transparency and some things to be standardized across the program,” said Coun. Colleen James, whose motion recognizes new provisions emphasizing transparency and ministerial powers under the Highway Traffic Act with the passing of Bill 34, the Transportation for the Future Act.

The motion asks that the province continue to work collaboratively to review the program and enhance existing regulated signage requirements for continuity across municipal jurisdictions.
