One man was injured and another is facing criminal charges after what police believe was a targeted assault with a knife at a Kitchener residence.

Waterloo Regional Police said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 5 p.m., when officers were called to a disturbance at a home on Walnut Street .

A 39-year-old Kitchener man was hurt in the incident.

A 38-year-old man, also from Kitchener, was charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose in connection with this incident.

He was held for a show cause bail hearing.
