WAYNE, Neb. (KTIV) - Stearns Hall, the first residence hall built on Wayne State College’s campus since 1966, is beginning the school year at full capacity.

According to Cody Westerhold, the college’s dean of students, Stearns Hall has received positive feedback.

“Student feedback about the building has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Westerhold. “So much that the building is 100% occupied. Students enjoy being able to live in a brand-new building but also enjoy the suite-style living.”

Halle Laursen, a WSC junior from Peterson, Iowa, has been living in the new hall since January.

She was among the students living in Berry Hall and was offered the first opportunity to move into Stearns Hall when the news of the demolition of Berry Hall was announced.
