MADISON, Neb. (KTIV) - An inmate at the Madison County Jail passed away on Friday, Aug. 29.
According to a release by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 62-year-old Ronald Murray was complaining of heart-related symptoms Friday.
Early that morning, Murray was taken to a hospital in Norfolk, then released back to jail. Shortly after 8 a.m. on the same day, Murray complained of the same symptoms and was examined by the jail’s nurse.
The nurse recommended Murray be taken to a hospital, and while he was being transported there, the sheriff’s office says Murray experienced increased symptoms. The correction officer stopped to start life-saving measures for Murray, with the help of a passing citizen.
