Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath visited three Fort Worth ISD schools on Thursday, including nearly 30 classrooms in three different district feeder patterns. District Superintendent Karen Molinar and her deputies were there as Morath wanted to see and hear from teachers.
“I’m trying to access how well the district is supporting classroom teachers in Fort Worth,” said Morath.
Morath is here after the Leadership Academy at Forest Oaks failed its accountability grades five years in a row. He said there is no wiggle room and state law forces him to act.
“There’s only two choices: close the campus or replace elected board members with an appointed board of managers. It is only those decisions I have to make,” he stated.
