Batter Up Fish and Chicken is coming to the Dyer Town Center.
The fried fish and chicken restaurant is moving to the former Deon’s BBQ spot at 811 Joliet St. in Dyer. It’s in the strip mall next to the Jewel-Osco at U.S. 30 and Calumet Avenue. The busy intersection is one of the most heavily trafficked in down.
Deon's BBQ, which previously ran a food truck outside large industrial employers like BP, Cintas and U.S. Gypsum, served up slow-cooked brisket and other barbecue in the space. The storefront was previously home to Epic Gourmet Popcorn, Dyer Dry Cleaner and It's My Party, which moved to a larger spot in neighboring Schererville.
It's in a prime spot next to the neighboring Jewel supermarket, which draws a lot of foot traffic to the vicinity.
