Buona Beef and Original Rainbow Cone recently recently opened a co-branded spot in Crown Point.
The dual Italian beef and ice cream shop held a grand opening celebration last week at 599 109th Plaza, just off Interstate 65. Both are Chicagoland staples. Buona was founded by the Buonavolantos family in Berwyn in 1981. It serves Italian beef, Italian sausage, Chicago-style hot dogs, Maxwell Street Polishes and other examples of Chicago street food, as well as pasta, burgers and protein bowls. It’s expanded across Chicagoland in recent years, also opening locations in Schererville and Valparaiso. Like in Valpo, it will be a joint Buona and original Rainbow Cone.
