Auburn police have charged a Montgomery man with murder and robbery.

Police say they and U.S. Marshals arrested 23-year-old Mardrekus Ja Quan Lee on felony warrants charging him with murder and robbery first degree.

Police say on February 15, they responded to a shots fired call near the 4300 block of Golf Club Drive and found a 33-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds. They say the man was in the hospital for more than a month before he died.

Preliminary investigative developments indicated that the suspect was acquainted with the victim and that the assault was not a random incident, police say.
