HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KBTX) - The City of Huntsville is taking a significant step towards updating its wastewater infrastructure after receiving a $1 million federal grant, announced Wednesday by Congressman Pete Sessions.
The funding awarded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will support the rehabilitation of the city’s wastewater treatment plant, which has been serving the community for decades.
Huntsville Mayor Russell Humphrey said this is something that has been in the works for a while, “It’s unbelievable, but it’s something that he (Congressman Sessions) and I have talked about for a long time.”
