DALHART, Texas (KFDA) - With the high school football season right around the corner, the Dalhart Golden Wolves know that leading by example and having good character will bring success on the field.

Dalhart head football coach, Joey Read, has been with the Wolves for the past 20 years, 11 of which were spent as head coach. He knows this year’s group is a special one.

“Every year is a little bit different,” said Read. “You have different roles that the kids play, different leadership...the leadership’s a little different. [It’s] not as vocal as we’ve had in the past, but they do work hard and they do lead by example.”

His players take pride in their leadership.
