FRANKFORT, Ky. — Texas and California are pushing ahead with redistricting efforts aimed at securing more congressional seats, drawing maps that favor their respective majority parties. Other states are considering similar measures.
Kentucky Republicans seem to be flirting with the idea too after Gov. Andy Beshear commented on the nationwide blitz on his podcast.
"I wish none of this was happening. But if Texas goes forward, I think that Gavin Newsom is doing the exact right thing in California. If these are the new rules, everybody’s gotta play by them," Beshear said.
In a social media post, State Rep. Jason Nemes (R-Middletown) responded to Beshear's comments with a side eyes emoji, implying interest.
