WACO, Texas — Several groups gathered at the federal courthouse in Waco on Thursday, Aug. 28 to once again protest for the release of Noe Guerrero and Erika Rodriguez. Guerrero was arrested last month after allegedly failing to obey lawful commands, while Rodriguez was arrested on her way to work.

Protestors said the main focus of their efforts was to bring more awareness to the potential release of Guerrero. Guerrero was previously granted a bond allowing for his release ; however, ICE submitted a form requesting an extra 10-day detention while they consider an appeal.

That 10-day timeline ends on Aug. 28, and unless ICE files a notice of appeal, Guerrero could be released.
