DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - “I’m not guilty.”

That’s what Adriana Blake said Thursday before a Scott County judge sentenced her to life in prison in the shooting deaths of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith in a Davenport apartment.

“I am not the monster that some of you may believe,” the 28-year-old said.

She also must pay $150,000 in restitution to each of Goodwin’s and Smith’s heirs.

A Scott County jury in May found Blake guilty of multiple charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree arson and abuse of a corpse.

Police and prosecutors said Blake and co-defendant Devon Breat fatally shot Goodwin and Smith, both 44, in an apartment on Division Street and set them on fire.
