HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford Fire Department and American Red Cross in Connecticut are linking up again next month to protect local families with free smoke alarm installations and fire safety education.
The effort will occur on Thursday, Sept. 11, as volunteers visit homes in different Hartford neighborhoods to install smoke alarms and offer important information about fire safety.
The outreach will occur in honor of the National Day of Service and Remembrance on the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
