AUSTIN, Texas — State lawmakers spent hours on Thursday debating Senate Bill 8 - the Women's Privacy Act - which is also known to many as the "Bathroom Bill."
SB 8 would require people to only use bathrooms in government buildings and public schools that align with their biological sex. Supporters of the bill say it's to protect girl's safety and privacy in the state.
