AUSTIN, Texas — The summer of 2025 has had its share of high heat here in Central Texas, but as Sept. 1 approaches, Austin is expected to see a cooler and wetter change in our weather pattern.

Portions of the U.S. are already feeling their first tastes of fall, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s for the last week of August.

While a bit ahead of schedule, meteorologists are tracking a Canadian air mass, which has settled into the Great Lakes and Northeast. This cooler air will attempt to trickle into Texas by the weekend and could keep afternoon temperatures below average through the extended forecast.
