THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been sentenced after being charged with the murder of his wife in McDuffie County.
James Wilson III, who was 74 when he was arrested, was sentenced to 15 years without parole in confinement.
In September 2022, Williams called 911 after allegedly shooting his wife , identified as Virginia Sue Wilson, and was arrested on a murder charge following a brief standoff in McDuffie County, authorities reported.
Wilson III was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office.
He was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and booked into McDuffie County jail, according to authorities.
