PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The Pensacola Opera will open its 43rd season with "Three Decembers," based on a script by Terrence McNally.
According to a Pensacola Opera news release, the story "delves into the complexities of family, love and the secrets we keep," and features music by Jake Heggie and libretto by Gene Scheer.
The plot follows Broadway star Madeline Mitchell, whose career has always come first, and her two adult children, Bea and Charlie. The storyline spans three decades — from 1986 to 2006, as the characters navigate the struggles of family, unresolved grief, and hidden truths.
