LEBANON, Tenn. (WSMV) - No one wants to take a trip to the emergency room, but when you need it, you need it fast.

“When we think about stroke or heart attacks, every single minute can actually save a life,” said TriStar CEO Cindy Bergmeier.

Right now, the closest option for Lebanon residents like Kay Hamilton is in Mount Juliet.

“If it’s between 3 and 6 p.m., the highway and the exit ramp to Mt. Juliet get backed up, and you don’t need an ambulance, but you’re just trying to rush through and get your hurt family member there as soon as you can,” Hamilton said.

So when she heard TriStar was planning to bring a new freestanding emergency room to a spot right down the road from her house, she couldn’t have been more thrilled.
