Lutheran North’s Cam Kubik showed why Thursday night when he engineered the game-winning, 87-yard drive midway through the fourth quarter to lift the Mustangs to a 28-20 win against L’Anse Creuse North in a non-league contest.
It was Kubik’s 10th win in 11 games as North’s starting quarterback.
“He’s accustomed to winning,” said Mustangs coach Garrett Wenzelburger. “He worked his tail off during the offseason and couple that with the fact that he’s a great athlete. He has weapons, too. It got tight at the end but when you’ve got a guy who’s done it for a while and a bunch of guys at the skill positions who’ve done it — it calms the nerves.”
