A proposal for a 24/7 indoor sporting facility on Railway Parade has been approved by the City of Bayswater.
Council members at Tuesday’s meeting voted unanimously to change the land use of the site from warehouse to private recreational facility.
The 3731sqm site is proposed to host a 24/7 indoor sporting facility, with 11 badminton and two pickleball courts, along with a cafe, retail area and amenities, six bicycle parking bays, and four end-of-trip facilities.
The facility will accommodate a maximum of 115 patrons and three staff members and will not host any competitions or events.
The proposal is for 34 on-site parking bays, which is short 215 as the city’s development standards require one bay per 10 sqm.
