HILLS and LUVERNE, MN (Dakota News Now) -The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots had a terrific season in 2024.

And Thursday night is a strong indication that Rex Metzger’s Patriots will be impressive again this fall. The Pats got a pair of long TD passes from Jamin Metzger to Brodie Metzger in the first quarter and went on to beat Adrian-Ellsworth 49-6.

In Luverne, Todd Oye’s Cardinals waited until our videographer Adam Huntimer arrived to start scoring in the 2nd quarter. In fact Joshua Hansen found Darius Dolo for a 50 yard touchdown on the first play when he got to the field for a 6-0 lead. Hansen later scored on a 9-yard run for a 14-0 half-time lead. The Cardinals continued in the 3rd when Jaydon Johnson found the end zone and they went on to win 40-6 over Blue Earth.
