Many of the collared wolves in Colorado have moved east over the past month, as shown in a new map of their locations released on Wednesday.

In the northwest, wolves previously seen in central Moffat and Rio Blanco counties have traveled east. Similarly, wolves that were northeast of Durango have moved closer to Pagosa Springs and into watersheds that span parts of Mineral, Rio Grande, Hinsdale, and Archuleta counties, according to the monthly map from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Wolves have also been detected again in watersheds near the Front Range, including areas of Gilpin, Clear Creek, and Boulder counties. The map indicates watersheds where at least one wolf traveled between July 22 and Aug. 26.
