HACIENDA HEIGHTS — The Los Altos football team has come out the first two weeks swinging, and turned a loss to West Covina last season into a win over the Bulldogs on Thursday night.

Los Altos quarterback Diego Castillo threw for 98 yards, ran for 49 and combined for all three touchdowns in a 21-7 victory over West Covina, avenging last year’s 45-28 loss to the Bulldogs.

And it comes a week after beating rival Wilson 62-15 to start the season 2-0.

Gavin Flores also played a big part catching two touchdown passes and finishing with 25 receiving yards.

“Last year, West Covina beat us pretty bad,” Castillo said. “It was great to get a bounce back win.”

West Covina got off to a good start with a blocked punt and took a 7-0 lead on Noah Davis’ touchdown run.
