CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - Hawkeye legacy is in the spotlight as FRYfest returns to Coralville. FRYfest, named after famous Hawkeye football coach, Hayden Fry, celebrates the past, present and future of the University of Iowa football team.
With students returning to campus just this week, it’s a chance to get Iowa fans old and new invested in the Hawkeyes.
“Seeing all the Hawkeye fans in one general area, the energy is really exciting,” Kylee Stock, one of the FRYfest organizers, said. “People are here to celebrate with one another, people just have a joy on their face, they’re excited.”
This year’s festival is dedicated to Fry’s work advocating for Iowa’s farmers through the America Needs Farmers program. Stock says it was his opportunity to honor ag workers across the country and grow
