A Spanish town transforms into Scotland for a few days every year to honour a heroic warrior. Thousands of visitors flock to the town of Teba, in the province of Malaga, Andalusia, for the festival. ‌

Last weekend, the town was turned into a mini Scotland as it hosted the 19th edition of Teba Douglas’ Days, an annual festival celebrating the life and exploits of the legendary Scottish knight Sir James Douglas. ‌

The event, which concluded on Sunday, August 24, attracted around 10,000 visitors, three times the town’s local population. Located in the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba region, Teba commemorates a dramatic chapter of its history from 700 years ago during the Scottish Festival. ‌
