PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat remains on Friday as Portland prepares for a brief cooler trend this Labor Day weekend.

Another round of sun and clouds will help Portland area temperatures warm into the upper 80s and low 90s on Friday afternoon and evening. The heat will be matched with high humidity making it feel muggy once again.

A brief cooler trend takes shape Saturday as clouds move back into the Pacific Northwest. Although afternoon highs will cool, they will still remain above the average of 80 degrees through Labor Day on Monday. No rain is expected in Portland this weekend. The coastline may see a drizzly start with patchy clouds. Expect much cooler temps in the low to mid 60s this weekend along the Oregon coastline.
