A crash that shut down all lanes of I-20 East early Friday morning has now been confirmed as fatal, according to DeKalb County Police.

Police said they were called to the interstate past Wesley Chapel Road around 4:04 a.m. Officers found that the driver of a vehicle had lost control and rolled over multiple times. No other cars were involved.

The man driving was taken to the hospital but later died of his injuries, according to police. His name has not yet been released as the medical examiner works to notify family.

Investigators believe a tire blowout may have caused the crash, but the investigation remains ongoing.
