Edna Karr will have some new-look elements to its football team this season.
Last week in a scrimmage against East St. John, it was senior transfer Xavier Owens from California who caught three touchdown passes from third-year starter John Johnson .
Then on Thursday in a jamboree contest against West Jefferson, the reigning state champion Cougars unveiled another newcomer with senior transfer Greg Wilfred from Destrehan who returned a punt from near midfield for a touchdown during the Cougars’ 28-0 victory at Morris Jeff Stadium in Algiers.
That touchdown came between a pair of rushing scores from running backs Tre Garrison, a Nicholls State commitment, and junior Jermond Macklin.
