Suspect identified in shooting that injured two deputies in Walton, Kentucky

Officials have identified the suspect in a shooting that sent two Boone County deputies to the hospital Thursday.

WLWT has obtained video showing the moment shots rang out, causing deputies to scatter.

The video shows the scene quickly escalating, with the deputies scattering once shots were fired. Investigators said Chapman fired from behind a curtain and officers didn't see him when the shots began.

During an hours long SWAT situation, deputies launched gas canisters through the windows of the apartment where the suspect was hiding. There was no reaction from the suspect. Once deemed safe, units sent a drone inside and flew it
