A Welland resident was flown to hospital after a tractor-trailer and pickup collided head-on in St. Clair Township Thursday, Lambton OPP say.
Police, fire officials and paramedics responded around 1:45 p.m. to Highway 40, south of Oil Springs Line, police said.
The pickup driver, 46, of Welland, was taken by Ornge Air Ambulance to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. The tractor-trailer driver was unhurt.
Highway 40 was closed between Courtright and Bickford lines for the investigation, but has since reopened, police said.

Charges laid in arson investigation
A Brooke-Alvinston resident faces charges after an arson and threatening probe in Alvinston, provincial
