GROVE CITY, Pa. - A device invented by two Grove City Middle School students to keep shoelaces tied will be featured on the Science Channel’s show “Tomorrow’s World Today.”

The episode is scheduled to premiere on Saturday at 10 a.m. EST on the Science Channel, with an encore presentation on the Discovery Channel on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 8:30 a.m. EST.

Olivia Adams and Samantha Priest won first place in the Inventionland National Invention Contest for their shoelace invention, “The Untie Not.” Another team of students, Ethan Cooke, Elijah Lawson, and Gavin Purdy, won second place for their “Needle Guard,” a device that prevents pump needles from breaking or getting lost.

Both inventions were selected for production, which teachers said is unprecedented for one school in a single year. O
