FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — A 32-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday night after colliding with an SUV Thursday night on Highway 51 in Falcon Heights.

A 25-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was also injured, but officials say her injuries are non-life-threatening.

The crash occurred just after 10:20 p.m. when the motorcycle, which was traveling north on Highway 51, struck the SUV near Garden Avenue. Officials say the SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 51 and was turning to go eastbound on Garden Avenue when the collision occurred. The motorcycle driver has been identified by officials as Samuel Lewer of Coon Rapids.

According to the state patrol, neither the motorcyclist nor the passenger was wearing a helmet. The driver of the SUV was uninjured.
