Bookworms don’t have long to wait before Balfron kicks off its very own book festival.
The festival, which runs from September 5-7, is a celebration of books and storytelling in the Stirlingshire village and includes everything from author events to creative writing workshops and from quizzes to family storytelling sessions.
Among the authors on the programme are Glasgow crime writer Alex Kane, author of 12 crime novels, and international best-selling author Coinneach MacLeod - aka The Hebridean Baker with plenty of cooking chat.
Gill Sims meanwhile is the author of eight books, including the Sunday Times best-selling Why Mummy series and The Saturday Night Sauvignon Sisterhood.
Award-winning sports writer Michael McEwan, head of content for Bunkered magazine, also headline
