Greenwood set a new daily rainfall record yesterday after the city recorded 1.00 inch of rain.

According to weather officials, the total broke the previous record of 0.90 inches, which had stood since 1950.

The rainfall comes as scattered showers continue across parts of Mississippi, with forecasters monitoring additional chances for rain heading into the weekend.
