AMARILLO — The Tascosa football team made history in a win against Amarillo ISD rival Palo Duro in the season opener.
Ken Plunk and the Rebels avenged last year's Week 1 loss to the Dons with a 10-0 victory against Eric Mims Sr.'s team, shutting out PD for the first time since 1997.
Senior quarterback Coltyn Fulton, the first three-year starter in Tascosa's history, scored the game's only touchdown on the opening drive, and the Rebels' defense took over from there. Tascosa added a field goal late in the second frame, then both teams were held scoreless in the final two quarters as Plunk's defense stifled junior quarterback Julian Reese II and company.
