GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Montgomery County Department of Police and University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) have partnered up to give MCPD employees and their spouses and dependents, a discount on tuition for undergraduate and graduate programs at UMGC.
According to a press release, this marks UMGC's commitment to supporting law enforcement in their pursuit of higher education and professional growth.
“Our ability to recruit top candidates is strengthened when we can also provide veteran officers with a clear pathway to further their education,” said Chief of Police Marc Yamada. “It is an investment in our employees, their families, and the community we serve.”
