FARGO — North Dakota State will board a charter airplane on Friday for a nonstop flight to Charleston, South Carolina, in advance of the season opener on Saturday at The Citadel. Next week, it’s more of the same, only this time to Nashville to play at Tennessee State.

Back-to-back games heading to the eastern part of the country. To play a military school no less.

Feels like 1932.

Only times have changed in travel plans. The Bison of that ‘32 team also had back-to-back college football games in the eastern U.S., but they also didn’t travel by plane. They hopped on a train in Fargo on a Tuesday night and arrived in the nation’s capital on a Friday morning and played George Washington University a day later.
