RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Lottery players in the East can buy in to tomorrow’s lottery drawing with $1 billion on the line.

The North Carolina Education Lottery has announced that tomorrow night’s Powerball drawing will have a jackpot offering $1 billion.

The winner can either take home that as an annuity or $453.1 million in cash.

“Many North Carolinians have been eager for a chance to play for a $1 billion jackpot and, for only the sixth time in Powerball’s 33-year history, they have that opportunity this weekend,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We are all hoping to see a lucky North Carolinian win that epic prize on Saturday night. Good luck.”

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
