A former New Orleans paramedic shared never-before-seen images of Hurricane Katrina.
“We're looking at 20 years later — some of these photos I hadn't seen in over 15 years or hadn't seen since. I had to look through the lens to take the photo,” Miles Watts Jr. said. Advertisement
Watts was a paramedic for New Orleans EMS during Katrina. He saved lives and also documented history.
“Now, when I go back and look at those photos, I see the expressions on those people's faces and, you know, the amount of suffering that they all went through,” Watts said. “It was hard to document. It was hard. But, in a way, I'm glad I did.”
