HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings City Council reviewed the one and six-year street improvement plan and projects for the 2026 fiscal year during Monday night’s meeting.

The plan would fix drainage, improve pavement and create quiet railroad crossings from now until 2031.

According to the City Council agenda, the City spent $2,879,750 on street improvements during the 2025 fiscal year, including:

Elm Meadows Paving District

Lochland Meadows 17th Addition Paving District

Resurfacing projects included:

Denver Avenue Quiet Crossing

California Avenue Quiet Crossing

Laird Avenue from 9th Street to 11th Street

Woodland Avenue from B Street to D Street

D Street from Woodland to Emerson Avenue

Chicago Avenue from E Street to F Street; curb and gutter improvements
