A 7-year-old boy who was severely injured in a Memorial Day boat explosion in Fort Lauderdale has left the hospital after spending more than three months recovering there, officials said.

Anthony Rivera left Holtz Children's Hospital Friday after 95 days of treatment, Jackson Health System officials said.

Rivera was the last patient involved in the May 26 explosion to be released from the hospital.

His brother, 5-year-old Kash Rivera, had been released on July 21.

According to officials, the explosion happened on a 39-foot Sea Ray boat with 15 passengers on board on a sandbar near 9th Street near the New River Triangle.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report said the boat had been refueled and was traveling northbound in the Intracoastal Waterway when it started
