Work to repair the Wadhams Road bridge over I-94 in St. Clair Township is scheduled to begin next week, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

Crews will start Thursday, Sept. 4, on steel repairs to the bridge in St. Clair County. The work is part of a $2.7 million project spanning five counties to extend the life of 13 bridges, including structures on M-33, I-75, US-10, M-54 and I-94. The cost of just the Wadhams Road bridge project was not available.

Repairs will include concrete patching, resealing bridge joints, steel bearing realignment, beam repairs, heat straightening, painting and temporary supports. Traffic on I-94 will be maintained with single-lane closures in both directions and intermittent shoulder closures. Traffic on Wadhams Road will remain open.
