The RCMP says it is investigating a drive-by shooting in White Rock early Wednesday morning.

The shooting took place between 3:15 and 3:30 a.m. at a home on Pacific Avenue near Balsam Street, police say.

Mounties say initial information indicates this may be a targeted incident related to extortion.

“White Rock RCMP is liaising with investigators from the Lower Mainland Joint Force Operation (JFO), as well as the RCMP National Coordination and Support Team, to determine if there is any nexus to other ongoing investigations,” Mounties said.

No injuries have been reported.

Anyone with any information or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the shooting is asked to call the White Rock RCMP at 778-545-4800.
