After a little girl was found walking around the streets of West Hollywood alone, a man identified as her father was arrested, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department exclusively told NBC4 Investigates Friday.

The 5-year-old child was spotted at around 11 a.m. Wednesday after someone called 911, seeking help for the girl who was wandering around and asking for food.

She also had marks around her neck, officials from the sheriff’s department described. When doctors examined her, they found more signs of abuse on her body.

When deputies tracked down her residence after speaking with neighbors, they went to the house and found a man who identified himself as the girls' father.
