LINCOLNVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) - A treasured piece of Lincolnville's spiritual and cultural heritage is ringing once again after nearly 150 years.
On August 29th, the Ebenezer AME Church restored its 147 year old historic bell to it's bell tower.
“It represents the town, the people. This was the original bell. This was the first church in Lincolnville. So all of that history is still here” said the Pastor of Ebenezer AME Church, Judy John-Joyner.
The bell is a symbol of unity and resilience in the post-Civil War era.
“We are so excited that the bell's been up since 1878. And then we found out that it's a number six bell that symbolizes the coming together of, of post-Civil War communities coming together after the Civil War.” said the President and Founder of the Lincolnville Preservation &
