GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville city officials say they’re close to finding a replacement for their former city manager Cynthia Curry.
Friday, TV20 spoke to Mayor Harvey Ward, who said commissioners would discuss potential picks for the next city manager at their next meeting Thursday.
Curry, Gainesville’s former city manager, announced her impending resignation at the start of August. Her last day is November 21.

Ward said he hopes to hire someone with prior knowledge of Gainesville’s ongoing projects.
“We have a lot of big projects that we are moving through the system,” Ward told TV20. “I want to make sure that we can bring those projects to completion, and not start over.”
