GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - In the wake of the shooting in Minneapolis, police and school districts want parents to know that safety is always top priority.

So many kids are going back to school and officials want to make sure they’re protected. It’s about preparing and speaking up about something suspicious.

Action 2 News spoke with police and school districts in our area. They operate under the mindset of what to do when something happens, not if, that includes a school shooting.

It means training, not just for officers, but school districts, too.

The Communications Director for the Neenah Joint School District says under state law, districts have to undergo a drill within the first month of school to prepare for an emergency.
