Real Betis have pulled out of a deal to sign Manchester United winger Antony, talkSPORT understands.

The LaLiga side had agreed a transfer to sign the Brazilian for £25million, with the deal containing a 50 per cent sell-on for the Red Devils .

The transfer would have represented a huge loss of nearly £60m for United, who signed Antony for £85m from Ajax in 2022.

United had even given permission for Antony to travel to Spain to undergo a medical.

But shortly after reaching an agreement, Betis have withdrew their offer as they feel they cannot match Antony's desired wage.

Betis want the forward to reduce his salary demands, and for United to contribute to an exit package.

For United, they are hoping Betis are simply pulling out as part of a negotiation tactic.
