LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln has seen little to no rain since August 11th, but plenty is on the way this holiday weekend.
Before the heavy rainfall the next three days, we could see scattered severe storms Friday evening in western Nebraska. Hail up to golf ball size, 60 mph winds and an isolated tornado are all possible.
Timing this all out, storms are expected to continue to develop this evening and into the overnight hours. The severe threat should wane late tonight/early overnight. However, rain (perhaps not constantly) will continue in waves over the next 72 hours in northern, central and eastern areas.
When it’s all said and done, multiple inches of rain are possible over these areas and flash flooding is possible too as a result. Make sure to stay weather aware!
